Victor Wooten is regarded as one of the most influential bassists in the world. Raised in a musical family, by the age of 5 he was performing professionally with the Wooten Brothers Band and sharing the stage with high-profile acts of the ‘70s like Curtis Mayfield and War. Wooten is perhaps best known for his contributions to the Grammy Award-winning supergroup Béla Fleck & The Flecktones, though he also has a lengthy catalog of critically-acclaimed solo recordings and a diverse resumé of guest-artist work to his credit. During his highly successful career, which spans more than three decades, Wooten has worked with a who’s who of artists including Branford Marsalis, Bruce Hornsby, Chick Corea, Dave Matthews, Prince, Bootsy Collins and many more. Along the way he has racked up an impressive five Grammy Awards, two Nashville Music Awards for Bassist of the Year, and he is the only three-time winner of Bass Player magazine’s Bass Player of the Year award. In addition to his innovations on the bass guitar Wooten is also a talented composer, arranger, producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. His music embraces a range of styles including jazz, funk, pop, soul, gospel, and world music.
