Austin rock ‘n roll four-piece White Denim is as unpredictable as they are prolific. Their music draws from an unusual array of influences including psychedelic rock, prog, punk, jazz, garage, soul, dub, blues and jam fusion, with meticulous timing and unusual song structures. Founded in 2006 as a trio of James Petralli (guitar), Steve Terebecki (bass) and Josh Block (drums), White Denim expanded to a four-piece in 2010 with the addition of second guitarist Austin Jenkins. Anyone familiar with the band has seen or at least heard about the ferocious drive of their renowned live shows, where songs merge into each other and the playing guides the direction of the performance. Petralli and Jenkins play off one another perfectly, synchronizing even the most difficult guitar improvisations, with Terebecki and Block providing “one of the most badass rhythm sections this side of Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding.” The band has toured all over the world, including stops on the festival circuit at Bonnaroo, Reading and Leeds, End of the Road, Iceland Airwaves, and of course at the Austin City Limits Music Festival and SXSW. Their fourth full-length studio album, “D”, was released in 2011 to an abundance of critical acclaim. The band was also invited to record a live EP at Third Man Records, produced by Jack White and released as a 12″ record on his label.
